Define Constant Data Import Field

Explanation

This activity is used to define fields and data in a text file which will be imported into a document so that the constant data can be used and processed in the system automatically. Defining fields for the constant data import ensures that the correct data is introduced to the system for further processing as there is no need to enter the data manually.

Prerequisites

In order to perform this activity, a constant data import document is required to be registered in the system.

Procedure

  1. Open the Constant Data Import window.
  2. Search or populate to find a document for which you want to import constant data.
  3. In the Definition tab, create a new record in order to fill in a parameter for the constant data import. Note that any selected parameters must be filled as they comprise the import definition.
  4. Select the column you want to import from a text file in the Column Name field.
  5. In the Position field, select a starting point for the constant data import.
  6. In the Length field, specify the length of the values (data string / number) which will be imported.
  7. Save the information.
