Explanation

This activity is used to define main settings for the constant data update. Updating means introducing any change to the constant data such as the base salary and any benefits that employees receive on a regular basis. Defining main update settings allows the user to control all aspects and elements of the operation.

Procedure

  1. Open the Constant Data Update window.
  2. Create a new record in order to define a new header for an update.
  3. Specify a unique ID for the update in the Update Id field. Enter a name for the update in the Update Name field.
  4. In the Description field, enter any relevant information about the update.
  5. Select a type of constant parameter which the update concerns in the Parameter Type field.
  6. Specify a parameter for the update in the Parameter field. You can use the list of values.
  7. If the update regards a salary field, select check boxes in the Salary Fields Update and Calculation Factor sections.
  8. In the Validation Date field, check the effective date for the update. Select a method of update in the Update Method field.
  9. In the Template/Document field, specify employees affected by the update. You can also use the list of values.
  10. The value list depends on the selected Update Method.
  11. Save the information.
