Usage

Use this tab to inspect general properties of a template. Contents of this tab are unlocked when a template is created.

Following properties are available:

CreationWizardMethod - determines which assistant will be used for the template creation. Following values are available:

• Standard - a standard assistant used to create new document exports.
• With Previous - an assistant which allows previously generated documents to be used in an export. It can be used, for example, to prepare an export where only some documents have to be generated and the rest can remain the same.

Encoding - determines how the characters in an export will be coded. Some external applications require specific code pages to properly display letters. Following values are available:

• Windows
• SII-ISO8859-2
• UTF- 8

Header - determines if data on the generated document will have headers. If the property is set to yes, the document will have Attribute ID included as a header for each column. Orientation property determines if headers appear on the top or on the side of the document.           Note: If the WayOfExport property is set to Xml, no headers will be created, regardless of the value selected.

HR Document - after an export is performed and an export file is generated, there are additional options for the file to interact with external applications. This property is used to determine what happens to the export file. Following values are available:

• None - the export file is created and no other interaction will take place.
• Mail Merge - the export can feed export data to a Microsoft Word document. A special Word template file has to be created and a path to it must be entered in the Doc Template File Name field for this property to work. After an export file is generated, it will be opened by MS Word.
• Shell - after an export file is generated, it can be opened by any application. In order for this property to work, the Export File External Edition field has to be filled. What has to be entered in the field varies depending on the application you want to use. Entering an executable file, e.g., Notepad.exe, will cause the export to be opened by the program. If you add a file directory, e.g., Excel.exe C:\templates\PayrollReport1.xls, you can open the export file and feed it to a prepared template file.

Orientation - determines if the export will be orientated horizontally or vertically. Based on the value selected, new lines will be added from top to bottom or from left to right. The Header property changes accordingly. This property will have no effect if the WayofExport value is set to Xml.

SelectionWizard - determines if a special selection assistant will be used during a document export. The assistant allows to use multiple document templates during a single export.

WayOfExport - When a document export is performed, an external file is created. This property determines what is the output format of the file. Following options are available:

• HtmlTable - the document will be exported as an html file,
• Xml - the document will be exported as an xml file,
• Separate Text... - the document will be exported as a txt file.
