Define Document Category Header and Footer

Explanation

This activity is used to define a footer and header for the document category. Categories represents certain types of documents and header and footer definitions manages the document layout as the defined footer will apply to all templates. While this activity covers definition of both header and footer, it is possible to define only one of them.
Note: Header and footer can take form of an xml tag, where header opens the tag, and footer closes it.

Prerequisites

In order to perform this activity, a document category has to be registered in the system.

Procedure

  1. Open the Document Basic Data window and go to the Categories tab.
  2. Search or populate to find the relevant document category ID.

To define category header:

  1. In the table under the Header section, add a new record to begin header definition.
  2. In the Line ID field, enter the identifier of the line.
  3. In the Line Order field, enter the order in which the line will appear. If you define multiple lines, the sequence in which they appear is determined by the Line Order field, from the lowest to the highest.
  4. In the Value field, enter information which will appear in the header when you generate a document for this category.
  5. Save the information

To define category footer:

  1. In the table under the Footer section, add a new record to begin header definition.
  2. In the Line ID field, enter the identifier of the line.
  3. In the Line Order field, enter the order in which the line will appear. If you define multiple lines, the sequence in which they appear is determined by the Line Order field, from the lowest to the highest.
  4. In the Value field, enter information which will appear in the footer when you generate a document for this category.
  5. Save the information.
