Report development consists typically of a few areas. You want to design reports represents business objects orders or invoices. These should normally be printed on paper and/or send electronically to a person or integrated system. We call these Operational Reports. Another typical type of report is the Quick Report or Ad-Hoc report which normally is shown on screen and allows the user to interact with or customize the result.
In order to develop a report a couple of steps are required. First the source of the data has to defined and then the layout of the report is designed. This section of the technical documentation will address these two steps and all other aspects of report development.
